Diamond Bandeau Tiara

The Diamond Bandeau Tiara consists of twenty-seven very large rose cut diamonds set on a light platinum wire frame. The diamonds were supposedly taken from the rivière of 34 large rose cut diamonds, which was part of Queen Emma's Wedding Gift.  The tiara was most probably made for Princess Juliana as she was first seen with it in 1937. Queen Wilhelmina also wore the simple but stunning bandeau for her last official portrait sitting * in 1948. Queen Juliana has worn the bandeau of diamond many times and in most cases with the matching set of earrings. Queen Beatrix has only started wearing this tiara in recent years. Her sister, Princess Margriet, wore the bandeau tiara on several occasions. Even Princess Christina, the Queens youngest sister has worn this piece. In recent years Princess Maxima has worn this simple but stunning diamond tiara quite frequently with much success.
