Diamond Rivières

The Orange-Nassau collection seems to contain several diamond Rivières /collet set diamond necklaces. Unfortunately it is not quite clear what the provenance is of each necklace since they are very similar. Queen Emma received a rivière of 34 brilliant cut diamonds in 1879 as a wedding present from the Dutch population. Some sources mention that there's also a diamond rivière that once belonged to Queen Anna Paulowna's mother, Empress Maria Feodorovna, in the collection. The problem is that these necklaces can be shortened or extended quite easily therefore identifying them becomes very difficult. Recently Queen Beatrix 'added' an other necklace to the collection when she started wearing what seem to be the large diamonds of the Diamond Festoon Necklace as a diamond rivière as well.
